The new gondola Champoluc-Crest is beginning to take shape: work in progress for the realisation of the new lift that is going to replace the historical one, that was operating since 1983.
The previous line has been completely dismantled. The new line will be slightly turned to the north and will be extended by a few tens of meters. In the valley station there will be ticket offices and administrative offices, while the top station will be positioned in such a way as to create an interchange area with the Crest-Alpe Ostafa III gondola lift.
The new gondola lift will have a maximum hourly capacity of 2400 people, compared with 1800 for the old gondola lift, and the journey time will be 3'09 ". The plant will also have the function of Local Public Transport as it connects Champoluc with the high-altitude villages of the Municipality of Ayas.
